Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment (CCFA’s)
Comprehensive Child and Family Assessment (CCFA’s). are used to assist in decision-making regarding placement of children entering foster care and in strategic planning geared towards the re-unification of the family whenever possible. The child and his/her immediate and extended family members are invited to participate in the assessment process.
CCFA’s utilizes Family-centered approaches such as Family Team Meetings and Multi-Disciplinary Team Staffing’s, to effectively involve the family and their treatment team in the planning and decision-making process to determine what is the best interest of the child. The Family Assessment is the foundation of the family case plan and is often utilized to assist judges, CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Citizens Panels, and other providers working with the child and family.
